I've seen now a lot of people who have different manners and cultures. I sat next to the most annoying man at airplane. I get it if you do things your own way at your home or in your country but when it comes to safety of all the people around you it's a different matter. This man got told first from one flight attendant to shut off his phone and put his bag (which at that point was on the seat between him and I) under the seat in front of him. He decided to put his phone away but did not shut it. What comes to the bag he gave a amazed look to the flight attendant and took the bag to his lap. When the next attendant came and gave him instructions regarding his bag he finally put the bag down on the floor. Well not quite where it was supposed to be but close enough. Maybe not all the people were meant to take instructions from anyone. We got off and everything went fine. When we started landing the bag was again on the seat between him and I. The flight attendant came again and told him to put it where it belongs during take offs and landings. This time he didn't bother putting it down but held it comfortably on his lap. I was glancing at the bag once in a while and I knew he noticed me watching it.
When I flew from Singapore to Phuket there was a similar incident that made me a tiny pit mad and disappointed. Maybe I'm a bit overreacting but meh... They gave out immigration forms which are supposed to fill during the flight because they'll checked upon arrival. Onboard there was a group of Chinese (at least somewhere there) and it didn't really go as instructed. When the plane was starting to land and everyone was supposed to be seated and buckled up these guys (or the group leader) started to walk around trying to find all the people from her group. She was giving form for each to fill and the flight attendants weren't happy about this. First one yelled from the back and the group leader sat down for a while. After a while she got up again and gave few forms more. There were some yelling from the back again. Then this older woman few rows in front of me started to state out something about the forms. She got up and tried speaking to someone on the other side of the plane. Few more followed her from the group and got up half off their seats. Now one of the flight attendants got up to the this older woman and told her in Chinese to sit down. It was really strict and her tone was coldish. After that no one got up and all the other passengers including me gave out a sigh of relief. Uh people!
Here you go a piece of my perfectionist and control freak side! You're welcome.
Today is my day to fly back home. At midnight on Friday I should be getting ready for bed in Finland. Kinda scary. Or I'm a bit nervous. It might be because of my coming university entrance exams this spring or just the fact that I don't really know what actually is included in my spring from now on. Will I work? (I already got an email from work that they have hours for me.) How much work will the entrance exams take or how much time? Will I be part of a new theatre program like I was last autumn? Who knows :)
Now I'm off to Bangkok Airport after a long almost 4 hours of sleep. How nice!
